Auburn Police arrested a vehicle theft suspect on Saturday, April 11 after a high-speed pursuit through city streets that ended in a residential neighborhood, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft in progress at the intersection of 3rd Street NW and A Street NW, where they quickly located the stolen vehicle and observed it being driven recklessly, including into oncoming traffic and through intersections without stopping.

During the investigation, officers recovered suspected narcotics and tools commonly used in vehicle thefts. Police said the driver showed signs of impairment and later admitted to recent drug use.
The suspect was booked into jail on multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police, driving under the influence and drug related offenses. The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner at the scene.
