VRFA Blotter: Firefighters extinguish semi fire, illegal fires, rescue patient & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Aug. 24–30, 2026:

• Aid Call (Auburn): On Monday, August 24th, VRFA firefighters responded to the Sounder Station for an adult patient experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient on scene before the patient was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
• Service Call (Auburn): On Tuesday, August 25th, VRFA firefighters responded to assist a homeowner with a broken water pipe connected to a water heater. Firefighters shut off the water supply to prevent further damage and assisted with cleanup before clearing the scene.
• Motor Vehicle Accident (Auburn): On Wednesday, August 26th, VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a two vehicle collision with possible injuries. Crews arrived to find all occupants safely out of the vehicles. Firefighters evaluated and treated two patients on scene before they were transported by private ambulance to local hospitals for further care.
• Illegal Burn (South Auburn): On Thursday, August 27th, VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a possible fire near the Green River. Firefighters and Auburn Police located a campfire at an encampment along the trail. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and Auburn Police advised those at the site of the statewide burn ban.
• Commercial Vehicle Fire (Auburn): On Friday, August 28th, VRFA firefighters responded to a commercial vehicle fire. Crews arrived to find a semi tractor fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading uphill into nearby trees and vegetation. Puget Sound Fire and Mountain View Fire and Rescue assisted with the response. Firefighters contained the fire before it could spread to the trailer or farther up the hillside. After extinguishing the fire and checking the area for remaining hot spots, the scene was turned over to the Washington State Patrol.
• Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, August 29th, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient experiencing a life threatening medical emergency. Firefighters immediately began lifesaving care, with assistance from Puget Sound Fire and King County Medic One paramedics. The patient was successfully resuscitated and transported by paramedics to Valley Medical Center for continued critical care.
• Illegal Burn (Auburn): On Sunday, August 30th, VRFA firefighters responded to a reported illegal burn near railroad tracks. Crews located a campfire in a sheltered area and extinguished the fire. Those at the site were advised of current burning regulations.
