VRFA Blotter: brush fires, CPR, overdose, diabetic emergency & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Aug. 31–Sept. 6, 2026:

• Brush Fire (Auburn): On Monday, August 31st at 7:48 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of smoke in an area of dense brush. Crews located a warming fire and advised those at the site of the current burn ban. The fire was extinguished without further incident.
• CPR (Auburn): On Tuesday, September 1st at 9:39 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an unconscious elderly patient and determined the patient was in cardiac arrest. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics immediately provided lifesaving care, successfully restoring a heart rhythm and spontaneous breathing. The patient was transported by paramedics, with a VRFA firefighter assisting, to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
• Overdose (Auburn): On Wednesday, September 2nd at 9:19 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a possible cardiac arrest. Crews arrived to find an unconscious adult patient with a strong pulse who appeared to be experiencing an overdose. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient, who regained consciousness on scene. The patient was transported by firefighters to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
• Aid Call (Auburn): On Thursday, September 3rd at 7:31 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient experiencing vomiting for several days. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient on scene before transporting to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care. A CARES referral was completed to provide additional support and resources.
• Aid Call (Auburn): On Friday, September 4th at 11:28 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient who had fallen down a set of stairs and sustained a head injury. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before being transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
• Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, September 5th at 10:09 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient experiencing a diabetic emergency after the patient stopped at Station 31 while riding an electric bike. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics evaluated and treated the patient before the patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
• Brush Fire (Auburn): On Sunday, September 6th at 5:22 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of smoke north of Emerald Downs. Crews arrived to find a smoldering brush fire approximately 10 feet by 100 feet near a parking area. Emerald Downs security staff had used several fire extinguishers to control the flames before firefighters arrived. Crews thoroughly overhauled the area to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
