Auburn Police are asking for the public’s help following a hit-and-run incident that left a woman seriously injured during an illegal street takeover on July 4, 2025.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Lake Tapps Parkway SE and Lakeland Hills Way SE (map below), where a female pedestrian was struck and left in critical condition. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police said that the vehicle involved fled the scene.
“This incident was part of an illegal intersection takeover/drifting event involving a large crowd and numerous people recording,” Auburn Police said in a statement released Monday.
The department urges anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to contact investigators at 253-288-7403.
The investigation remains active.

Responsibility for this lies partially with Auburn PD which, despite numerous neighborhood complaints, refuses to shut down this activity. It’s every weekend, all summer, and the locations are fairly predictable. Staff up, pay the damned overtime, and arrest as many involved parties as possible. Block them into an area and put down tire popping strips at all exits to prevent them escaping. This has been going on for several years. It was only a matter of time before this was the outcome.
