The Auburn Police Department arrested a suspect and recovered a stolen firearm during a search warrant operation on Park Avenue last week.
On Oct. 22, Auburn officers, assisted by the Valley SWAT Team, served a warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Park Avenue, according to the department.
Police said the warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into violations of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
The suspect was arrested on the sidewalk near the residence as he walked toward the home (see video below).
Officers said the man was taken into custody on multiple outstanding warrants, including failure to appear for controlled substance possession and charges of second-degree criminal trespass and obstructing a public servant.
During the search, investigators recovered a stolen gun. Auburn Police said the case remains under investigation.
The operation was described by the department as a coordinated effort between patrol officers, detectives, and Valley SWAT.
