A drone reached a commercial burglary alarm before Auburn Police officers on Sept. 18 and located a suspect near a loading dock, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Police said the Skydio drone was dispatched around 9 p.m. As the suspect began to leave, he noticed the drone and immediately raised his hands.
The drone maintained visual contact with the suspect, who remained at the location until officers arrived, police said.
“This is another example of how this technology can help our officers respond more safely and efficiently,” the department said.
