VRFA Blotter: Burned while cooking, opioid overdoses, wires down due to fallen tree & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from May 12–18, 2025:

• Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, May 12th at 1:35 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a local medical clinic for an adult female experiencing chest pain. The patient was evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
• Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, May 13th at 4:07 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an elderly female at an adult family home complaining of shortness of breath. The patient was evaluated on scene and transported to Valley Medical Center by private ambulance.
• Aid Call: (Pacific) On Wednesday, May 14th at 3:40 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who sustained burns while cooking. The patient reported that oil in a pan suddenly caught fire, resulting in burns to multiple areas of her body. Firefighters treated the patient on scene, and she was transported to Harborview Medical Center by private ambulance.
• Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, May 15th at 2:02 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who was found unresponsive. Firefighters and paramedics treated the patient on scene, and he was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further evaluation.
• Aid Call: (Auburn) On Friday, May 16th at 9:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who experienced an automatic internal defibrillator activation. The patient was evaluated and transported to a local emergency room by King County Medic One paramedics.
• Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, May 17th at 10:40 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics were dispatched to reports of two adult males suffering from suspected opioid overdoses inside a residence. One patient was treated by firefighters and recovered on scene. The second patient required CPR, which was performed by VRFA firefighters with assistance from King County Medic One paramedics. The patient regained a pulse and was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by KC Medic One.
• Wires Down: (Auburn) On Sunday, May 18th at 5:56 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of wires down caused by a fallen tree. Firefighters blocked the road and ensured scene safety until Puget Sound Energy crews arrived and completed their work.
