VRFA Blotter: CPR, residential, dryer, appliance fires, altercation & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Jan. 12–Jan. 18, 2026:

  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Monday, January 12th at 7:02 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing a diabetic emergency. While providing care, the patient had a seizure and became unresponsive. Firefighters initiated CPR and requested additional resources. King County Medic One paramedics arrived and successfully revived the patient, who was then transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
  • Mutual Aid (Auburn): On Tuesday, January 13th at 8:46 a.m., VRFA firefighters provided mutual aid assistance to Puget Sound Fire for a residential fire in their service area. Crews arrived quickly and worked aggressively to locate and extinguish the fire. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • Commercial Fire (Auburn): On Wednesday, January 14th at 4:40 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at a nursing home. Upon arrival, staff reported a dryer on fire with smoke visible from the building, prompting the response to be upgraded to a commercial fire. Crews entered the building and found the fire contained to the dryer, which had been mostly extinguished by staff using a fire extinguisher. Firefighters confirmed there was no extension, ventilated the building, and reset the alarm system.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Thursday, January 15th at 3:23 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing shortness of breath and low oxygen levels. Firefighters treated the patient on scene before he was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Electrical Fire (Auburn): On Friday, January 16th at 3:18 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an appliance fire inside a single-family residence. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from a dishwasher and secured power at the breaker, stopping the smoke. Firefighters attempted to remove the appliance but reinstalled it after discovering the water supply valve would not fully shut off.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, January 17th at 12:57 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to two adult females requesting medical attention following an altercation. Firefighters evaluated both individuals, who declined further treatment, and they remained on scene with Auburn Police Department to resolve the matter.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Sunday, January 18th at 7:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who was vomiting blood. After assessing the patient, firefighters requested additional assistance from King County Medic One. The patient was transported by paramedics to a local hospital for further care.
