VRFA Blotter: Assault, gas leak evacuation, house fire and e-bike crash among incidents

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from April 20-26, 2026:

  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Monday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who suffered multiple injuries during an assault. Firefighters treated the patient on scene before she was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Natural Gas Leak (Auburn): On Wednesday, April 22nd at 2:46 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a natural gas leak at a large apartment building. Firefighters and HazMat technicians monitored the building and, after detecting unsafe levels of natural gas and carbon dioxide, began evacuating the premises. Working with the utility company, crews secured the gas supply and ventilated multiple floors until gas levels returned to safe limits. The scene was then turned over to the utility company for further investigation and mitigation.
  • Aid Call (Lakeland Hills): On Wednesday, April 22nd at 8:26 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly male experiencing stroke-like symptoms. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before he was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Thursday, April 23rd at 7:16 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a local shelter for an adult male experiencing abdominal pain. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before he was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Residential Fire (South Auburn): On Friday, April 24th at 6:23 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a residential fire discovered by a King County Sheriff’s Office deputy while handling an unrelated call. The deputy entered the residence and assisted one juvenile out prior to firefighters’ arrival. Crews arrived to find a vehicle fire that had extended into the residence and quickly deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire while conducting a search to confirm no additional occupants were inside. Two residents were evaluated for smoke inhalation, and no one required transport to a hospital.
  • Motorcycle Accident (Auburn): On Saturday, April 25th at 6:30 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to a 13-year-old male who struck a tree while riding an electric bicycle. Crews arrived to find the patient semi-conscious and requested additional paramedic support. The patient was transported by paramedics, with two firefighters assisting, to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Service Call (Auburn): On Sunday, April 26th at 1:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female with an acute medical concern. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before she was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
