Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Oct. 7–Oct. 13, 2024:
- Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Monday, October 7th at 6:26 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at Lowe’s. Upon arrival, crews found a car fully engulfed in flames next to the building and an adult female suffering from severe burns. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire while additional personnel and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center by King County Medic One, along with one firefighter. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the VRFA Fire Marshal’s Office.
- Auto Accident: (Auburn) On Tuesday, October 8th at 4:15 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on a local road. While en route, it was reported that no injuries were sustained, but one individual required extrication. Upon arrival, firefighters found an adult female had exited the vehicle from the passenger side and no longer required assistance. After confirming no injuries, firefighters placed flares to warn oncoming traffic of the hazard. Auburn Police arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, October 9th at 6:55 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who sustained minor injuries from a car accident. The woman was in stable condition but required further evaluation at a local hospital. She was transported by private ambulance.
- Machine Rescue: (Auburn) On Thursday, October 10th, at 2:16 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an adult male whose hand was trapped in industrial machinery. Firefighters arrived and, with the assistance of workers, disassembled the equipment to free the patient. Once his hand was safely dislodged, the patient was evaluated on the scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center by private ambulance.
- Service Call: (Auburn) On Friday, October 11th, at 4:04 p.m., VRFA firefighters were dispatched to assist with a cat stuck in a car engine. They arrived on the scene and safely removed the cat without harming either the animal or the responders.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, October 13th at 10:16 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who had sustained injuries from a fall. Firefighters provided treatment on the scene and transported the patient to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
