VRFA Blotter: Tow truck driver struck by car, cardiac arrest & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Sept. 9–Sept. 15, 2024:

  • Aid Call: (Pacific) On Monday, September 9th, at 3:55 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing dizziness and visual disturbances. The symptoms had started the previous night, and in-home healthcare workers called 911 after visiting her that afternoon. Crews assessed the patient on scene before she was transported to Valley Medical Center for further care.
  • Vehicle vs. Pedestrian: (Auburn) On Tuesday, September 10th, at 8:26 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident on westbound SR 18, east of Weyerhaeuser Way S. A tow truck driver had been struck by a passenger car while loading a vehicle onto his truck. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient on scene before he was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, September 11th at 1:58 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an unconscious adult male found on the bank of the Green River. CPR was administered by Engine 336, Ladder 331, and King County Medic One paramedics. The patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by King County Medic One for further care.
  • Cardiac Arrest: (Lakeland Hills) On Thursday, September 12th at 5:13 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, the patient was found without a pulse. Firefighters performed two rounds of CPR, successfully restoring the patient’s pulse. The patient was further treated and transported by paramedics to the MultiCare Auburn Medical Center ER.
  • Aid Call: (Pacific) On Friday, September 13th at 4:54 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly man feeling unwell. During the evaluation, they discovered the patient had a history of two strokes and was confused, answering questions inappropriately. The patient was transported by private ambulance to St. Francis Hospital.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, September 14th at 2:46 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a neighbor burning garbage in their backyard. Crews requested the resident extinguish the fire and explained the regulations for recreational fires.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, September 15th at 4:13 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female with a suspected drug overdose. Crews evaluated the patient at the scene before she was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance for further care.
