Two men have pleaded guilty in a high profile Auburn case involving suspects who impersonated law enforcement and attempted to force entry into a home, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Police said Davante Leach pleaded guilty to burglary in the first degree and was sentenced to 57 months in prison. Leach received a second strike under Washington’s three strikes law and also has additional felony charges pending in Pierce County.

Lonzell King pleaded guilty to attempted burglary in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree, police said. Sentencing for King has been delayed, but he has agreed to a 77 month sentence pending judicial approval.

The case stems from an incident reported Oct. 19, when Auburn Police responded around 2 a.m. to the 31000 block of 117 Place SE for a report of a non injury shooting. A resident reported an attempted burglary involving three suspects.

According to police, security footage showed three masked men carrying guns who announced themselves as Seattle Police before attempting to kick in the door. The homeowner, who was armed, fired shots through the door. Police said multiple shots were fired before the suspects fled. No injuries were reported.

Auburn Police previously asked for the public’s help identifying the suspects as detectives investigated the case.
