The Auburn Police Department Investigations Team arrested two individuals Feb. 18, 2026, during separate operations related to child exploitation investigations, according to the department.
Police said both individuals were arrested for possession of and dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in the first degree.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, and search warrants were executed at their residences.
Detectives recovered digital evidence related to the investigations, and both suspects were booked into jail, according to Auburn Police.
The Auburn Police Department said it is an affiliate of the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and works closely with other ICAC affiliates. The department routinely receives investigative tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child sexual abuse material.
Detectives thoroughly investigate those tips to identify offenders and determine their location, often using search warrants and digital forensic analysis as part of the process.
“The Auburn Police Department remains committed to protecting children in our community,” police said in a statement. “These investigations are a top priority, and we will continue to aggressively pursue individuals involved in the exploitation of minors.”
