Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Aug. 12–Aug. 18, 2024:
Rollover Commercial Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Monday, August 12th, at 8:49 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a single commercial vehicle rollover accident. Upon arrival, they found a tree-trimming truck with an articulating boom rolled over in a ditch, along with a broken power pole creating an overhead hazard due to high-voltage wires. Firefighters evaluated the single occupant, who had self-extricated and sustained only minor injuries. The patient refused transport. Crews remained on the scene until PSE arrived and secured power to the damaged lines.
Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, August 13th, at 6:24 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a juvenile female who had been bitten by a dog. The girl had been playing at a park near her home when she was bitten on the back of the leg. Fortunately, there was no significant trauma as a result of the bite. Firefighters left her in the care of her family, with Auburn PD and animal control on scene.
Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Wednesday, August 14th, at 12:50 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle accident involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle on WA-18. On scene, VRFA personnel treated the motorcycle rider for minor injuries, and VRFA Aid 332 transported the patient to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center as a precaution.
Aid Call: (Pacific) On Thursday, August 15th, at 12:07 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing leg pain. The patient was evaluated and transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
Aid Call: (Pacific) On Friday, August 16th, at 6:18 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a woman with facial drooping. Firefighters determined she was having a mild stroke. The patient was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, August 18th, at 11:08 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a skilled nursing facility for a patient experiencing adverse reactions from accidentally taking the wrong medication. The patient was evaluated on scene by firefighters and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
