VRFA Blotter: Driver hit while fleeing scene, car vs pedestrian, gas leak & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Dec. 30–Jan. 5, 2024:

  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Monday, December 30th at 5:40 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a two-car collision. An occupant of one vehicle was struck by a separate vehicle while attempting to flee the scene, resulting in a knee injury. An additional patient was treated for a head laceration due to the initial collision. Two patients were transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, December 31st at 8:00 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male with multiple leg fractures sustained while servicing his semi-truck. Firefighters and paramedics treated the patient on scene before transporting him to Valley Medical Center for further care.
  • Car vs. Pedestrian: (Auburn) On Wednesday, January 1st at 5:01 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident. The patient was evaluated by firefighters, treated by King County Medic One paramedics, and transported to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Algona) On Thursday, January 2nd at 6:14 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female in emotional distress. The patient, already enrolled in the VRFA CARES program with an existing care plan, was reassured and supported by firefighters, who reinforced the goals of her continuing care plan. She remained at home under the care of an onsite provider.
  • Natural Gas Leak: (Lea Hill) On Friday, January 3rd at 7:15 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a natural gas leak in a residential neighborhood. Firefighters identified and secured the source of the leak with assistance from Puget Sound Energy.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, January 4th at 10:42 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female with hip pain following a fall. The patient was assessed on scene and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, January 5th at 12:01 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing low oxygen levels due to RSV. The patient was treated with oxygen and transported to MultiCare Covington by Tri-Med Ambulance.
