Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from June 22-28, 2026:
- Residential Fire (Auburn): On Monday, June 22nd at 1:56 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a reported shed fire that was upgraded to a residential fire response while crews were en route. Firefighters arrived to find multiple sheds on fire with one nearby home threatened by the flames. Crews quickly deployed hose lines and extinguished the fire, preventing significant damage to the exposed residence. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the VRFA Fire Marshal’s Office.
- Swiftwater Rescue (Maple Valley): On Tuesday, June 23rd at 3:41 p.m., VRFA Swiftwater Rescue Technicians responded to a Zone 3 Technical Rescue call for two individuals who were swept downstream while hiking along a riverbank. VRFA rescue technicians entered the water with two inflatable kayaks to reach the victims, who were stranded on the far side of the river. Both individuals were safely rescued and returned to shore. No injuries to the victims or rescuers were reported.
- Aid Call (Auburn): On Tuesday, June 23rd at 11:50 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who required medical attention after accidentally getting a significant amount of Gorilla Glue on his face and being unable to remove it. Firefighters provided care on scene before the patient was transported by private ambulance to Valley Medical Center for further treatment.
- Brush Fire (Pacific): On Wednesday, June 24th at 2:44 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a brush fire along the Interurban Trail. Crews used wildland hose packs to quickly contain the fire, then extinguished the remaining hot spots with water and hand tools. No injuries were reported.
- Aid Call (Auburn): On Thursday, June 25th at 10:44 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing a mental health crisis. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before she was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and care.
- Non-Aid Service (Auburn): On Friday, June 26th at 9:08 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to assist a small dog whose head had become stuck in the supports of an ornate metal table. Firefighters carefully maneuvered the dog and were able to free its head without causing injury. The dog was unharmed.
- Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, June 27th at 7:42 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an unconscious adult female at a local outdoor event. Firefighters arrived to find the patient conscious and breathing and provided evaluation and treatment on scene. The patient did not require further medical care and was able to return home with family in a personal vehicle.
- Residential Fire (Algona): On Sunday, June 28th at 9:06 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a brush fire near a residence. While en route, additional reports indicated the fire had spread to the home. After spotting a large column of smoke, the first arriving engine upgraded the incident to a working residential fire to bring additional resources to the scene. Firefighters arrived to find a large hedge on fire with flames extending into the home. Crews quickly extinguished the hedge fire, confirmed all occupants had safely evacuated, and extinguished the fire in the attic, preventing further damage.
