VRFA Blotter: Green River vehicle rescue, bathroom fire, medical calls & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Aug. 10–16, 2026:

  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Monday, August 10th, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics evaluated and treated the patient on scene before the patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Minor Fire (Auburn): On Tuesday, August 11th, VRFA firefighters responded to a minor fire that had been extinguished by the resident prior to their arrival. The fire started after a paper towel used to light a candle ignited a bathroom trash can. Smoke alarms alerted the resident, who extinguished the fire with water. Firefighters confirmed the fire was fully extinguished and assisted with ventilation. Damage was minor and contained to the bathroom, and no injuries were reported.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident (Auburn): On Wednesday, August 12th, VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle partially suspended on an unstable embankment above the Green River. Crews found the vehicle at risk of sliding further down the embankment and into the river. Firefighters used ropes and the ladder truck to secure and stabilize the vehicle, allowing two adult patients to safely exit. Neither patient was injured.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Thursday, August 13th, VRFA firefighters responded to a local church for an elderly patient who had fallen. Firefighters evaluated the patient and determined the patient had sustained a possible hip injury. The patient was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Friday, August 14th, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient who sustained injuries during a police incident. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before the patient was transported to a local emergency department for further evaluation and treatment.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, August 15th, VRFA firefighters responded to a juvenile patient experiencing vomiting and symptoms of a possible gastrointestinal bleed. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before the patient was transported by private ambulance to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital for further care.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Sunday, August 16th, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult patient with a laceration to the head. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient on scene before the patient was transported by private ambulance to St. Francis Hospital for further care.
