The Port of Seattle is encouraging South King County residents to help shape the future of Seattle Tacoma International Airport as the region continues to grow and passenger demand increases.

In a newly released video (see below), the Port says the airport is a significant part of daily life for many residents who live near Sea-Tac Airport, whether they hear aircraft overhead, travel through the airport or work there.

According to the Port, continued regional growth means more people are traveling through the airport each year, making long term planning essential.

“We need a clear plan to manage this growth,” the Port says in the video.

The Port said it developed the Sustainable Airport Master Plan Near Term Projects, also known as SAMP, to help the airport and surrounding communities prepare for the future.

The video also emphasizes the importance of public participation in the planning process.

“We want these improvements to reflect your priorities. So, your input is essential,” the Port says. “Let’s build a better future together.”

The Sustainable Airport Master Plan has drawn significant public interest in South King County, particularly in communities surrounding the airport, including Burien, SeaTac, Des Moines, Normandy Park, Tukwila and White Center.
