Nighttime travelers heading south on SR 167 should plan for short, overnight lane closures next week while crews decommission old tolling equipment between Renton and Auburn, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
- WSDOT crews will close roughly a mile of the left toll lane at a time between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly.
- The work will start on southbound SR 167 near I-405 on the evening of Monday, May 18 and then proceed south each night until reaching Auburn on the evening of Thursday, May 21.
- Crews will be removing toll equipment used on SR 167 before the road was updated with new, more modern equipment last fall.
Travelers are encouraged to use WSDOT’s travel tools before heading out the door. Real-time information is available on the WSDOT statewide travel map and the WSDOT app.
