Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Oct. 9–15, 2023:
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, October 9th at 4:29 p.m., firefighters responded to an elderly male with low blood sugar. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient. The patient was left at home with their family.
- Arcing Wires:(Auburn) On Tuesday, August 10th at 4:32 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of live electrical wires arcing into a tree. Fire crews arrived to find wires contacting a tree. PSE was notified and utility crews were dispatched to mitigate the situation.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, October 11th at 12:20 p.m., firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing stroke-like symptoms. The patient was evaluated by firefighters and transported to Valley Medical Center by private ambulance.
- Aid Call/Rescue: On Thursday, October 12th at 4:05 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to an adult male having chest pain. On scene VRFA personnel hiked approximately a quarter mile to find the patient, load him onto a Stokes basket, and carry him out of the forest over rough and uneven terrain. King County Paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital for further evaluation.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Friday, October 13th at 11:28 a.m., firefighters responded to an elderly male who passed out in his car. The patient was evaluated and then transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, October 14th at 3:15 p.m., firefighters responded to an adult male complaining of a rapid heart rate. Firefighters found the man unresponsive and having a cardiac event. Firefighters initiated CPR, upgrading the call to add an Advanced Life support Response. King County Medic One Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital.
- Water Leak: (Auburn) On Saturday, October 14th at 2:40 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a broken water line at a residence. Firefighters assisted the homeowner with shutting off the water and power to the residence. The crew also performed salvage to minimize water damage to the first floor of the residence.
- Technical Rope Rescue: (Auburn) On Sunday, October 15th at 7:28 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to assist King County Fire District 44 rescue an adult male who received multiple traumatic injuries after falling down a steep ravine. VRFA firefighters, assisted by Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Enumclaw Fire Department, and South King Fire and Rescue, performed a high-angle rope rescue to remove the patient from the ravine. He received medical treatment from King County Medic One Paramedics. The patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by TriMed.
