Two suspects, including a juvenile, were arrested after two women reported being shot at following an altercation in Auburn shortly after midnight on Friday, Oct. 30, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Officers responded at 12:01 a.m. to the 1800 block of C Street SE (map below) after multiple callers reported hearing gunshots. The women told officers they had been in a vehicle with two males before an altercation occurred.
After the women got out, one of the males threatened them, pointed a firearm at them and began shooting, police said. The second male also reportedly fired at them. Both women ran and took cover behind a parked vehicle.
Surveillance footage obtained by officers showed the women taking cover as gunshots could be heard, according to the department. Additional video showed the suspect vehicle leaving the area, with multiple muzzle flashes visible from both the driver and passenger sides.
Officers found multiple shell casings along C Street SE, extending toward 17th Street SE, police said.
The Washington State Patrol later located the suspect vehicle in the 1500 block of West Valley Highway. Auburn officers responded, detained both occupants and arrested them.
One suspect was booked into King County Jail. The juvenile was booked into King County Juvenile Detention, according to police.
The department’s account did not specify whether either woman was injured or identify the offenses for which the suspects were booked.
The case remains under investigation and has been referred to Auburn police detectives for follow-up.
“A job well done by everyone involved,” police said.
