VRFA Blotter: Car through fence, fatal SR 167 shooting, overdoses, fireworks injury & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from June 23–June 29, 2025:

  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, June 23rd at 3:48 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing a suspected overdose. Firefighters, King County Medic One paramedics, and Auburn Police treated the patient on scene. He was transported to St. Francis Medical Center for continued care.
  • Single Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Tuesday, June 24th at 2:15 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle that had gone through a residential fence. Firefighters arrived to find several juveniles at the scene and a car that had breached the fence. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The scene was turned over to Auburn Police for investigation.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, June 25th at 6:10 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a juvenile male who sustained multiple injuries in a motocross motorcycle accident at Pacific Raceways. Firefighters treated the patient on scene, and he was transported to Valley Medical Center for continued care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, June 25th at 11:20 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male in need of a lift assist. The man had recently returned home from surgery and was feeling weak. Firefighters assisted him and determined that no further medical attention was needed. He was left in his home and referred to the CARES unit for follow-up support to help him maintain his independence.
  • Shooting: (Algona) On Thursday, June 26th at 7:38 p.m., VRFA firefighters were dispatched to northbound SR 167, just north of Ellingson Road, for a report of a vehicle into the guardrail and a male driver with multiple gunshot wounds. Firefighters arrived to find the driver deceased from injuries incompatible with life. The scene was turned over to the Washington State Patrol for investigation.
  • Overdose: (Auburn) On Friday, June 27th at 11:31 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an unconscious, unresponsive male in an alley. Firefighters administered Narcan, and the patient regained consciousness after a few minutes. He agreed to be transported to a local emergency room by private ambulance for further care.
  • Fireworks Injury: (Auburn) On Saturday, June 28th at 4:50 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a juvenile male who sustained a hand injury after lighting a firework he found on the ground. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient before transporting him to a local hospital for further care.
  • Commercial Fire: (Federal Way) On Sunday, June 29th at 3:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded with South King Fire & Rescue to a storage unit fire in Federal Way. Crews arrived to find several units heavily involved in fire. Firefighters forced entry, deployed hose lines, and used an elevated master stream from the ladder truck to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the King County Fire Investigator.
