VRFA Blotter: Brush & trash fires, motorcycle accident, choking on steak & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from July 28–Aug. 3, 2025:

  • Brush Fire: (Auburn) On Monday, July 28th at 1:01 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a brush fire. They arrived to find a fast-moving grass fire approximately 100 feet by 40 feet in size. Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the fire, ensuring it was fully out before clearing the scene.
  • Motorcycle Accident: (Auburn) On Tuesday, July 29th at 5:59 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who suffered multiple injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle. The rider struck an object or curbing in the roadway and was ejected into a ditch. Firefighters and paramedics treated the patient on scene, and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Airlift Northwest for continued care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, July 31st at 6:04 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a juvenile in cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, the patient was found to be conscious and breathing. The patient was evaluated by firefighters and King County Paramedics, then transported to Children’s Hospital by a VRFA Aid Unit for further care.
  • Trash Fire: (Auburn) On Friday, August 1st at 3:01 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a trash can fire at Game Farm Park. On arrival, firefighters found two trash cans burning, with flames extending to a nearby public restroom outbuilding. Crews quickly extinguished the fire. A VRFA Fire Marshal conducted an investigation to determine the cause and origin.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, August 2nd at 6:03 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who was choking on a piece of steak. The patient was able to breathe but had a partially obstructed airway. She was treated by firefighters and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, August 3rd at 12:00 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing hip pain after a fall. The patient was evaluated on scene and transported to a local emergency room for further treatment.
