Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) firefighters deployed to the Los Angeles area wildfires have safely arrived and are actively assisting in firefighting efforts.

Initially assigned to the Palisades Fire, the team worked alongside four strike teams from Washington, local Los Angeles firefighters, and helicopter crews to protect a neighborhood above Sunset Boulevard.

Their work included creating fire lines and coordinating aerial suppression efforts to save homes.

The VRFA firefighters have since relocated to mop-up operations in the Encino and Calabasas areas, focusing on ensuring that no hot spots reignite and minimizing further risk to affected communities.

“The days are long, and the work is challenging, but the VRFA team remains strong and committed as they help combat these fires that have affected so many lives,” officials said in a statement.

Updates will be provided as additional information is received from VRFA firefighters on the ground.
