An authentic Indian culinary destination in South King County is entering a new chapter, as Cardamom restaurant announces it is operating under new ownership and undergoing active renovations to enhance the local dining experience.
Conveniently located in the White River Junction shopping complex, the family business is managed by partners, including an experienced restaurateur, who have introduced updates to the property, while continuing to highlight a wide array of regional Indian culinary styles. Of note is a particular emphasis on traditional northern Indian cuisine. To ensure attentive service for visitors coming from neighboring cities like Kent, Federal Way and Renton, one of the business partners is generally on site nearly at all times.
“We bring the true flavors of India,” the owners told us, noting that the kitchen accommodates varying local preferences by preparing dishes across five distinct spice levels, ranging from low and mild to medium, hot and extra hot.
The establishment features a versatile layout, including comfortable dining areas designed for both large families and smaller groups, alongside a full bar offering a place to relax or to enjoy sports watch parties of all types.
Cardamom operates daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., featuring an abundant buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a daily happy hour from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. The happy hour offers specialized pricing on Indian beer, pakoras, samosas and more.
As their menu states:
“India is a land of flavors, colors, and stories. Every region brings its own unique taste, every dish carries centuries of tradition.”
The partners enjoy bringing this tradition to the Pacific Northwest and are ready to make suggestions to introduce novices to these unique flavors. According to the restaurant management, some of the most popular menu selections include majestic chicken, tandoor chicken, rack of lamb and mixed grill. For vegetarian patrons, the menu features options such as karahi paneer and vegetable korma, among other favorites. We noted that the restaurant’s butter chicken is creamy and flavorful, and the fragrant Basmati rice was delightfully prepared.
In addition to daily dine-in operations, Cardamom has established catering service, providing specialized menus tailored for community events, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and celebrations of all sorts.
