VRFA Blotter: Elevator rescue, industrial accident, multi-vehicle accidents, truck fire & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Jan. 27–Feb. 2, 2025:

  • Elevator Rescue: (Auburn) On Monday, January 27th at 1:59 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a stuck elevator at an apartment building with one occupant inside. Firefighters located the elevator, shut down power, and safely freed the occupant, who was uninjured. An elevator technician was called to restore service.
  • Industrial Accident: (Auburn) On Monday, January 27th at 1:30 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an industrial accident involving a hand injury. The patient sustained a crush injury while working with a sheet metal forming machine and suffered significant trauma while extricating himself. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient on scene before he was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, January 28th at 8:49 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who sustained a lower leg fracture after slipping on ice. Firefighters treated the patient on scene before she was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care. Motor Vehicle
  • Multi-Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Wednesday, January 29th at 6:11 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle accident. Crews arrived to find heavy damage to both vehicles involved. The driver and passenger of one vehicle were treated for injuries on scene and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center via private ambulance for further evaluation and treatment
  • Aid Call: (Lea Hill) On Thursday, January 30th at 4:48 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath. Firefighters treated and evaluated the patient before he was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance for further care.
  • Multi-Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Friday, January 31st at 9:15 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a two-car accident involving a vehicle that struck an overpass. Firefighters evaluated the patient and treated minor injuries before transport to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center via TriMed ambulance.
  • Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Saturday, February 1st at 5:05 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a pickup truck on fire. Crews arrived to find the engine compartment and cab fully involved. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
  • Injury Accident: (Auburn) On Sunday, February 2nd at 4:09 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to a vehicle collision involving a trailer. The incident was upgraded to a Zone 3 Technical Rescue, with assistance from South King Fire and Rescue and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority. Crews stabilized the scene and extricated a critically injured, entrapped patient, who was treated on scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center by King County Paramedics.
