VRFA Blotter: CPRs, struck by vehicle, electrical burns, microwave fire & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Feb. 10–Feb. 16, 2025:

  • Aid Call: (Pacific) On Monday, February 10th at 2:41 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who stated she swallowed narcotics in the form of a powder during a traffic stop by Pacific Police. Firefighters assessed the patient, and she was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, February 11th at 1:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who was reportedly unconscious and not breathing. CPR instructions were being provided by 911 dispatch, and the patient regained consciousness before firefighters arrived. She was evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
  • Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Wednesday, February 12th at 7:51 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision. Firefighters arrived to find both vehicles with moderate front-end damage and one driver with facial injuries. The patient was evaluated, stabilized, and transported to a local hospital for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, February 13th at 10:48 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of an unresponsive male lying on the ground. The incident was upgraded to a CPR response, and additional firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics were dispatched. Firefighters and paramedics performed CPR on scene and continued resuscitative efforts while transporting the patient to the hospital, where care was transferred to hospital staff.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Friday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who suffered multiple injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. Firefighters arrived to find the patient lying on her left side in the roadway. She sustained multiple injuries but was in stable condition. The patient was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further evaluation.
  • Aid Call: (Algona) On Saturday, February 15th at 10:07 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who suffered electrical burns on her hands and arms while working on her home’s electrical panel. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient on scene before she was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further care.
  • Minor Fire: (Auburn) On Sunday, February 16th at 12:42 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a downstairs apartment unit. The resident met crews outside and reported the fire had been extinguished. Firefighters found that a microwave fire had been put out by the resident using a dry chemical extinguisher before their arrival. Crews used a PPV fan to clear the remaining smoke from the residence.
