The Auburn City Council met for its regularly scheduled study session Monday, June 14. Three ordinances and two updates were presented to the council and Mayor.

Council was presented with Ordinance No. 6823, concerning amending the previously passed Ordinance No. 6759 deadline complete conditions associated with vacating right-of-way of a portion of the alley north of 3rd Street NE between B Street NE and Auburn Avenue.

Ordinance No. 6824 addresses the continued waiver of Right-of-Way Use Permit Fees for outside restaurant seating. This change is being made as the original waiver included language related to Phase 4, of which there is none in Governor Inslee’s reopening plan.

Due to the WA Supreme Court Blake decision, city code must change. Ordinance No. 6825 repeals a portion of city code related to controlled substances.

The council received a report discussing the 2021 Washington State Legislative Session’s effects on the city and King County.
