VRFA Blotter: 3-vehicle accident, cardiac arrest, apartment fire & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Mar. 3–Mar. 9, 2025:

  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, March 3rd at 8:58 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an ill adult male. Firefighters evaluated the patient and requested Advanced Life Support. King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient for low blood pressure before he was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance for further care.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Tuesday, March 4th at 4:50 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a three-vehicle accident on a local highway. Firefighters arrived to find vehicles blocking the center and right lanes, with airbags deployed. All occupants were evaluated by firefighters and were found to be uninjured. Fire units cleared the scene while Washington State Patrol remained on site.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, March 5th at 3:50 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a 66-year-old female in cardiac arrest. Firefighters initiated CPR and provided advanced life support alongside King County Medic One paramedics. The patient regained a pulse and was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by King County Medic One with a firefighter assisting for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, March 6th at 6:25 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of an elderly male calling for help. After receiving no response upon arrival, firefighters used hand tools to force entry into the residence. The patient was evaluated for weakness and confusion before being transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance for further care.
  • Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Friday, March 7th at 9:47 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle fire. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment, extending into the passenger area. Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the vehicle, preventing damage to nearby exposures. The car was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • Commercial Fire: (Lakeland Hills) On Saturday, March 8th at 1:09 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an apartment fire at Bellara Apartments. They arrived to find the fire alarm sounding and the sprinkler system activated on the balcony of a second-story unit. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which was confined to a small closet on the balcony and secured the sprinkler system to prevent further water damage. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, March 9th at 10:40 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing slurred speech and lethargy. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before she was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further care.
