A dog stuck between metal railings on a second-story balcony had a “paw-sitive” outcome, thanks to quick action by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA).
Early Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, 2024, VRFA Engine 333 responded to a distress call, where they found the dog nearly falling from the balcony.
Firefighters immediately positioned a ladder to access the apartment and carefully cut through the metal railings.
The dog was safely carried down the ladder, sustaining only a minor foot injury.
Firefighters reported that the dog appeared happy and relieved to be reunited with her owner, even showing her appreciation to the crew.
“Despite a small injury to her foot, she was very happy to be rescued and reunited with her owner,” VRFA said. “She also showed her appreciation to our crew members for helping! Great work E333!”
