Westbound SR 18 has reopened near SW 304th Street in Auburn after a brush fire temporarily shut down the highway Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
WSDOT said the closure affected westbound SR 18 at milepost 9 and the on-ramp from SW 304th Street.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to contain the fire.
As of the latest update, all lanes and the ramp have reopened, though one lane remains closed at the fire site.
The agency encouraged travelers to check the WSDOT mobile app, the WSDOT Travel Center Map, or sign up for email alerts for the latest road conditions.
CLEARED: Westbound SR 18 and the SE 304th Street on-ramp to WB SR 18 have reopened following a brush fire.
