Auburn Police investigating deadly shooting of 16-year-old

Auburn Police responded to a shooting on Friday night, July 12, 2024 that left a 16-year-old male dead and two other juvenile males injured.

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 500 Block of A Street SE (map below).

Officers arrived at the scene to find the 16-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after, two other juvenile males with gunshot wounds were located and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Both have since been released.

Police said that there are currently no suspects in custody. However, officials add that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Auburn Police Department Tip Line at 253-288-7403.
