Windstorm wreaks havoc on area, knocking out power to over 7,900

A blustery, gusty windstorm wreaked havoc on the Auburn area overnight, and continued lashing the area through Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.

Puget Sound Energy said that 7.937 customers lost power during the storm. Estimated restoration time is “yet to be determined,” PSE said.

Wind, Flood Advisories Issued

The National Weather Service also issued a Wind Advisory effective through 10 p.m. Tuesday night, warning of gusts up to 50mph:

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
