VRFA Blotter: Possible overdose, multi-vehicle collisions, illegal burns & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from April 21–27, 2025:

  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, April 21st at 1:20 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to an elderly male who fainted after his cardiac defibrillator activated. Firefighters evaluated the patient and advised transport to a local hospital, but he initially declined. Firefighters were called back within the hour, and the patient agreed to be transported by VRFA aid car.
  • Aid Call: (Algona) On Tuesday, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female for a possible overdose. Firefighters evaluated the patient, who was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital. She was also referred to the CARES unit for follow-up and assistance.
  • Motor Vehicle Collision: (Auburn) On Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:33 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a multicar collision. Firefighters treated five patients on scene. Two patients were transported to local hospitals by private ambulance, and one patient was treated by King County Medic One paramedics and then transported to Harborview Medical Center by Airlift Northwest.
  • Illegal Burn: (Auburn) On Thursday, April 24th at 5:54 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of an illegal burn. Firefighters arrived at a residence to find a 10′ x 10′ pile of construction debris burning in the backyard. The firefighters explained outdoor burning regulations, and the resident cooperatively extinguished the fire.
  • Motor Vehicle Collision: (Auburn) On Friday, April 25th at 11:20 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision with injuries. Firefighters arrived to find two vehicles with moderate damage and two patients. Firefighters treated and evaluated one patient with a lower leg injury and another with facial injuries. One patient was transported by VRFA and the other was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, April 26th at 8:48 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a female complaining of itchy hives. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene, and she was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
  • Illegal Burn: (Lea Hill) On Sunday, April 27th at 6:14 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a homeowner burning yard waste on their property. On arrival, firefighters contacted the residents, who were burning tree branches in a fire pit. The residents extinguished the yard waste fire.
