VRFA Blotter: Fall from wheelchair, dog bite, fires, collision & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from July 15–July 21, 2024:

  • Aid Call: (Pacific) On Monday, July 15th at 8:00 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly female who had fallen out of her wheelchair, injuring her feet. Firefighters treated her on scene, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, July 16th at 7:06 p.m., VRFA firefighters and Auburn police responded to an adult female who suffered an injury from a dog bite during a domestic dispute. Firefighters treated the patient on scene, and she was transported to Auburn Medical Center by her family for continued care.
  • Brush Fire: (Lea Hill) On Wednesday, July 17th at 3:15 p.m., VRFA firefighters and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority firefighters responded to a brush fire approximately 50′ x 50′ in size. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and discovered gasoline and possible incendiary devices in the area. A VRFA fire investigator and Auburn police were called to investigate the incident. There was no damage to the property.
  • Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Thursday, July 18th at 10:42 a.m., VRFA firefighters were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire in a parking lot. Upon arrival, they found flames coming from the engine compartment and reaching up the windshield. Firefighters ensured all occupants were safely out of the vehicle and extinguished the fire.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Friday, July 19th, at 6:35 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female reporting a rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. The patient also mentioned she was pregnant. Firefighters evaluated her on scene, and she was then transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further care.
  • Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Saturday, July 20th at 1:38 p.m., multiple callers reported a passenger vehicle fire in a Walgreen’s parking lot. VRFA firefighters arrived to find an SUV with a fire originating from the engine compartment. Passengers, who were inside the vehicle when the fire started, reported hearing popping noises from the engine. Engine 332 crew used a bumper line to extinguish the flames.
  • Motor Vehicle Collision: (Auburn)On Sunday, July 21st at 6:51 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an accident involving an adolescent on an electric dirt bike who collided with an SUV while riding on the sidewalk. The teen was treated for multiple injuries on scene and placed on a spinal immobilization device. Firefighters transported the individual to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
