Nearly 1,000 residents gathered in downtown Auburn on Saturday, June 14, 2025, as part of a nationwide “No Kings” protest, calling for the preservation of democratic institutions and denouncing what organizers described as authoritarian behavior from President Donald Trump.

The event, organized by Indivisible Auburn WA, was described as peaceful and powerful, drawing a diverse crowd of participants holding signs, chanting slogans, and standing along local streets as passing drivers honked and waved in support.

“We reject the authoritarian actions of corrupt President Trump,” organizers stated. “We demand our government remains a democracy with three functioning branches of government, fidelity to the Constitution, commitment to the rule of law, and elevation of our right to free speech.”

Attendees cited a variety of concerns, from attacks on healthcare and immigrant rights to broader threats to democratic norms.

Despite the serious message, the atmosphere remained peaceful and hopeful.

“Pretty impressive crowd! Plenty of helpful volunteers and a sense of caring for each other… everywhere!” one attendee said.

Another protester added:

“At 67 years old, I had to be there. This moment in history cannot be ignored. Ready to keep resisting this fascist regime any way I can. Peace!”

The rally was one of many “No Kings” events held nationwide, reflecting continued grassroots opposition to Trump and growing fears about the erosion of democratic governance.
