How long have you been part of the Miss Auburn, Miss Auburn’s Outstanding Teen program?:
This is my first year as a contestant in the Miss Auburn’s Outstanding Teen program but I participated in the “Little Sisters” program for in 2009 and 2011.
Why did you choose to compete?:
I chose to compete because of the many useful life skills I will learn through this program and the life long friends that are made throughout the experience.
What are you most excited about in the competition?:
Definitely most excited about being able to walk out on stage in front of hundreds of people and showcase my newfound self-confidence and poise.
What are you most nervous about in the competition?:
I’m most nervous about being interviewed by the panel of judges as I’ve never been in an interview before. But, I’m sure the chances of me doing terribly or messing up are slim after the training I have received and am going to receive.
What is your talent and why did you choose it?:
I am going to play an acoustic guitar solo piece. I chose this as my talent because my I’ve watched my mother play guitar my entire life, when I decided to pick up the instrument playing it felt natural and comfortable, it was then that I realized that playing guitar was going to be my talent.
What is your platform?:
My platform is called, “From Lost to Loved, Acknowledging the Need for Rescue Pet Adoption”
Why is your platform important to you?:
My platform is important to me because of my strong empathy towards animals. There is a huge need for rescue pet adoption and any chance I might get to spread awareness on the topic, I feel the need to take that chance and make the most of it.
What does representing Auburn as Miss Auburn’s Outstanding Teen mean to you?:
This program has always been a really big part of my life, to win this title would mean making my family proud and proving that I can be so much more than meets the eye.
