A garbage fire in a truck prompted a swift response from Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) crews Wednesday at the intersection of 118th Ave SE and SE 296th Place on Lea Hill in Auburn.
The fire began inside a garbage truck, prompting the driver to dump the burning contents onto the roadway to prevent the flames from spreading to the vehicle.
Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Crews commended the driver’s decisive action, which prevented potential damage to the truck and minimized risk to surrounding areas.
