On Monday, June 2, 2025, the City of Auburn officially kicked off Pride Month with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall Plaza, reaffirming its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Mayor Nancy Backus led the event, which drew community members, city officials, and local advocates to 25 W. Main Street.
The ceremony included the reading of a proclamation declaring June as LGBTQIA+ Month in Auburn.
The Pride flag will remain raised throughout June, symbolizing Auburn’s ongoing efforts to foster a welcoming environment for all residents.
