Indivisible Auburn WA is organizing a gathering on Saturday, Oct. 17, to encourage early voting and help Auburn area residents prepare to cast their ballots.

The event is scheduled for 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Auburn Way North and 15th Street NE (map below) as part of the No Kings Vote Early National Day of nonviolent action, according to the group.

“Power belongs to the people, but only if we use it,” organizers said in their announcement. “Elections give us the power to make our voices heard.”

The gathering aims to help eligible voters make a plan to vote early, understand their options and get involved in local efforts to protect voting rights, organizers said.

Participants are encouraged to bring signs promoting early voting through community ballot drop boxes. Organizers said informational resources will be available to help with voter registration, ballot completion and ballot monitoring.

Attendees also can paint or take a rock to place in their communities as a reminder to vote.
