In the first round of results from the Nov. 4 general election, Auburn Mayor Nancy Backus and two incumbent City Council members held substantial leads over their challengers, according to King County Elections.
Mayor Backus captured 3,567 votes (56.64 %) to challenger Yolanda Trout’s 2,672 votes (42.43 %).
For Council Position 2, incumbent Kate Baldwin leads with 4,219 votes (70.34 %) while Adib Altallal received 1,703 votes (28.39 %).
In the race for Council Position 4, Brian Lott was ahead with 3,373 votes (55.60 %) to Erica Tomas’s 2,656 votes (43.78 %).
In the race for Position No. 6, incumbent Lisa M. Stirgus leads with 3,487 votes (57.56 %) to Cobi Clark’s 2,519 votes (41.58 %).
Across South King County, contested races in Burien, Des Moines and SeaTac yielded tight margins, underscoring local voters’ engagement in municipal governance.
