VRFA Blotter: alcohol withdrawal, residential fire, overdose anxiety & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Mar. 18–Mar. 24, 2024:

  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, March 18th at 12:31 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a call concerning an adult male experiencing shortness of breath. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the patient seated in his vehicle, experiencing a mental health crisis. After administering on-scene treatment, the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.
  • Aid Call: (Lakeland Hills) On Tuesday, March 19th at 8:21 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report concerning an adult male experiencing symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. Upon evaluation by firefighters, the patient was subsequently transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, March 20th at 10:27 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a call from an adult female experiencing shoulder and chest pain. Upon assessment, firefighters determined the patient to be in stable condition but recommended further evaluation at a hospital. The patient was transported to a local hospital of her choice by a private ambulance.
  • Residential Fire: (Enumclaw) On Thursday, March 21st, at 3:40 p.m., VRFA Ladder 331 and Battalion 331 responded to a residential fire in Enumclaw. Upon arrival, they joined other units already engaged at the scene. The ladder crew’s task was to vent the roof vertically, a task they successfully completed while coordinating with interior crews. Battalion 331 provided command and safety support throughout the operation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Friday, March 22nd at 4:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who sustained a leg injury after being run over by a motorized jack. The man accidentally ran himself over while walking beside the jack as he moved it. Firefighters provided initial treatment to the patient at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, March 23rd at 8:27 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female reporting an overdose. The patient informed firefighters that she consumed pills purchased on the street and expressed anxiety about overdosing. Firefighters evaluated the patient and transported her to St. Francis Hospital via private ambulance.
  • Aid Call: (Pacific) On Sunday, March 24th at 09:10 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing stroke-like symptoms. The patient was assessed on scene and then transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by a private ambulance.
