The Senate Labor, Commerce & Tribal Affairs Committee heard public testimony on SB 5783, which would re-establish the underground economy task force, specifically for the construction trade. The underground economy is also known as being paid “under the table” where construction workers are not listed as employees, paid in cash by employers and not taxed accordingly.
