In response to the continued stress and uncertainty that the COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted on businesses in the 8th Congressional District, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today released an updated resource guide to support small businesses and employers. The guide is intended to help struggling businesses across Washington state easily locate up-to-date resources available to them.
“Small businesses have been working hard in the last year to support employees, educate customers about safety practices, and navigate the changing economy,” said Rep. Schrier. “It has been so difficult to watch our local businesses in Washington struggle with the effects of the pandemic. That is why I am continuing to coordinate with federal agencies to secure relief for our community. And why I wanted to release this guide to make sure my constituents have the resources and guidance they need. My office is always here to assist.”
Programs detailed in the guide, such as the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) have saved thousands of jobs in the 8th district in 2020. The PPP alone saved 108,592 jobs in the district by helping to support 11,882 small businesses.
The guide can be found here and includes detailed guidance regarding what financial resources are available to businesses and where to go for advice on business practices. Rep. Schrier’s staff will continue to update the guide as more information is released by the federal government. 8th district residents who have questions or need assistance can reach Rep. Schrier’s offices at 425-657-1001 (Issaquah) or 509-850-5340 (Wenatchee).
