The Pierce County Council will be reviewing ordinances regarding the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office utilize body cameras and the county’s biennial budget. Each ordinance will be considered in committee before going before the full council.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Body Cameras
Proposal No. 2020-74 is an ordinance that authorizes the use of body cameras by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Deputies.

Pierce County Biennial Budget
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the council is reviewing the Biennial Budget of Pierce County for Fiscal Years 2020-2021. Proposal No. 2020-73 will amend Ordinance No. 2019-86s, as Amended by Ordinance Nos. 2020-35, 2020-42, 2020-52, 2020-54, and 2020-60.
The Rules and Operations Committee hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 3, 2020, at 10:00 am. The proposal goes before the full council Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 3:00 pm. The final Council hearing will be held in Room 1045, County-City Building, 930 Tacoma Ave S, in Tacoma.
