Obituary – Anna B. Schulz

On June 23, 2021, Anna B. Schulz died in Olympia, Washington at 97.5 years of age.

She will be lovingly cherished and remembered by her daughter, Susy, and son-in-law Charlie Watts (Tumwater, Washington)); her grandchildren Sean Watts and wife Kari; Heather Noonan and husband Michael (Severna Park, Maryland); great grandchildren Anne and Owen Watts (Seattle, Washington), and Keira and Claire Noonan (Severna Park, Maryland.) She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and George and her sister Martha.

Annie was born on December 7, 1923, in Wharton, Texas to Julia and George Heil. She graduated from high school at age 16 in Alice, Texas. She was married to Ervin B. Schulz on September 8, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas following the end of World War II.  They welcomed Susan Anne in 1947 in Boise, Idaho. Annie lived in Oregon, Washington, and California while her husband worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and served as organist at Zion Lutheran Church, Auburn, Washington, and New Hope Lutheran Church in Pacific, Washington. Annie loved her family, reading, and serving the community.

On June 25, 2021, a graveside burial service, attended by immediate family, was held at Evergreen Memorial Park, Enumclaw, Washington, followed by a memorial celebration service at New Hope Lutheran Church, Pacific, Washington for a limited number of friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Algona-Pacific food bank, where Annie Schulz worked as co-administrator for years. All gifts will go to meeting the needs of the community food bank. Algona-Pacific Food Pantry, 603 3rd Avenue SE, Pacific, WA 98047.
