Reelect James Jeyaraj for Auburn City Council: ‘Together, let’s shape an even more vibrant and remarkable Auburn’

Hailing from Singapore, I completed my high school education and proudly served in the Singapore Armed Forces. My quest for higher education brought me to Spokane, Washington, where I simultaneously ventured into the workforce, gaining experience at an electronics firm.

However, in 2007, an exciting job opportunity in Seattle’s thriving aerospace sector beckoned, ultimately leading me to make Auburn my home.

Over the years, I’ve watched Auburn’s population flourish and its diversity thrive. This dynamic transformation has fueled my passion for fostering vibrancy, particularly within our downtown area. I envision a downtown replete with restaurants catering to both city employees during lunch hours and residents seeking dining options for dinner. The potential of vacant spaces, like those in the new Downtown Shag apartments, excites me, and I strive to see them occupied by thriving businesses.

Auburn is investing earnestly in the revitalization of downtown, evident in projects such as the Post Mark Art Center housed within the charming Old Post Office, the forthcoming high-rise development designed to provide housing for low-income individuals, and the exciting redevelopment plans for the Auburn Ave Theater. The downtown business association has played its part in beautifying the area with captivating murals.

In my capacity as Auburn’s Deputy Mayor, I am unwavering in my commitment to carry forward the diligent efforts of our council to transform our city into a place of unparalleled beauty and vibrancy. My aspiration is for all Auburn residents to take immense pride in the place they call home.

I am James Jeyaraj, and I wholeheartedly seek your support for re-election to Auburn City Council Position 3 on November 7, 2023.

Together, let’s shape an even more vibrant and remarkable Auburn.
