The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting another PPE distribution event. Partnering with Seattle and King County Public Health’s Safe Start for Taverns and Restaurants (SSTAR) Program, the free COVID-19 protection supplies will specifically be for Auburn area restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, and taverns.
The November 19 drive-thru distribution event will be located at the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce offices (420 E Main St, Auburn). Supplies will be available from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The Seattle-King County Public Health Mobile COVID-19 Outreach van will bring the following supplies for distribution:
• Hand sanitizer
• Disinfecting solution
• Posters and educational materials for compliance
SSTAR Program staff will also have information on financial assistance available for small businesses.
“Seattle and King County Public Health recently launched a new program called Safe Start for Taverns and Restaurants (SSTAR) to increase compliance rates with Governor Inslee’s “Safe Start Reopening” requirements at restaurants, bars, and taverns,” states the event announcement. “The SSTAR Program is working with businesses to provide technical assistance to ensure that food establishments are satisfactorily meeting all Safe Start COVID-19 prevention requirements. SSTAR staff are visiting restaurants, taverns, bars, wineries, and breweries throughout King County to provide technical assistance.”
The SSTAR Program also provides mobile COVID-19 outreach service to bars and restaurants.
