Fire crews from multiple agencies quickly contained a blaze that tore through an abandoned structure in Auburn on Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, 2025, preventing it from spreading further into nearby vegetation.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) said firefighters were dispatched just after 6 p.m. to the 32500 block of 51st Avenue South (map below) after reports of smoke.

When they arrived, they found the building fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to brush and trees.

Crews from Puget Sound Fire, South King Fire, and King County Medic One assisted in the response.

“Crews acted fast, allowing for a quick knockdown of the structure fire and the surrounding vegetation,” VRFA said in a statement.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
