The White River Valley Museum is inviting adults over 21 to experience a unique twist on holiday traditions at its “Dickens Christmas After Hours” event this Thursday night, Dec. 12, 2024.
Held in the Muckleshoot Room from 7–9 p.m., the event is open to attendees aged 21 and over and promises an exploration of the more unconventional aspects of Victorian-era Christmas celebrations.
Guests will enjoy mulled wine and sweet treats while learning about historic traditions, including Victorian food, gender roles, ghost stories, and festive revelry.
“Join our museum curators for the saucier side of the holidays,” organizers said.
The event offers a blend of education and entertainment, making it an engaging option for those looking to step back in time and learn about the roots of many modern holiday customs in a fun, adult-focused setting.
